Council hears project updates: Highway 18 detour, culvert work, recycling enforcement and cleanup week

City staff reported that construction crews have moved equipment on-site for the Highway 18 C-to-D Street drainage project near the Sale Barn area; the project will likely cause a full detour lasting approximately 2–4 weeks and was expected to begin shortly after the meeting. Wyman Street and the 16th Street culvert projects were also flagged; staff estimated those closures could last roughly two to three weeks beginning mid-August.
Council discussed recycling enforcement: staff said recycling will only be picked up if placed in the required automated container, and containers have been available for about three weeks. Chair announced cleanup week the week of September 14 and the council adjourned.
