The Central School District 51 Board of Education voted May 11 to approve the district's April financial report and to pay the bills presented for the May 11, 2026 meeting, following a presentation of revenue and expenditure summaries.
Board members reviewed fund-by-fund figures for education, transportation, debt service and other funds, including FYTD activity for salaries, benefits, purchased services, supplies and capital outlay. The board heard staff describe revenue totals (reported in the packet as roughly $17.97 million in total revenues) and comparative expenditure totals for the year-to-date. Motion to approve the financial report and pay bills was made by Mrs. Devore and seconded by Mrs. Beale and carried on a roll call vote with all members present voting aye.
Mrs. Blundy opened the meeting with a statement of the district mission: "Encourage Excellence Everyday with Compassion, Commitment, and Community." That mission framed discussion about budget priorities for staff, programs and services in the coming year. The board did not take additional budget direction at the meeting; staff will continue monitoring FY26–27 staffing and expenditures and report back as needed.
