Maybrook trustees hear updates on hydrant flushing, park equipment, UV project and PD renovations

Department heads updated the board on ongoing infrastructure and operations. DPW Superintendent Matt Thorp said the final part of park equipment installation should be completed by the end of the week; hyd rant flushing began April 28 and will run through May 23 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., with a recommendation that residents delay laundry until after 5:30 p.m. while water discoloration may occur. He also said the generator is awaiting Central Hudson to install the gas line and that police department renovations are pending electrical, HVAC and sheetrock work.
Engineer Hoffman said he had heard back from the general contractor on a change order for the UV project and hopes to have the matter wrapped up for the next meeting; sewer lining work will be starting and a draft plan for the STP control building roof is expected this week. Clerk/Treasurer David Griffith reported an issue with water bills being mailed from NYC rather than Albany that resulted in some residents receiving duplicate bills; the village used CodeRED and social media to notify residents and the clerk reported ARPA reporting is complete.
Trustees did not record any formal motions tied to these operational updates beyond routine follow‑up; DPW and engineering will continue to manage project schedules and communication with contractors and utility providers.
