Maybrook mayor announces run for county legislator; trustees highlight community events and election results

Mayor Dennis Leahy told trustees he will run for County Legislator after Maybrook’s redistricting and said he would like to represent the village if elected. The announcement was made during the Mayor’s Report at the March 24 meeting.
Trustees and staff also reported on community activities: a Village "Easter Egg Drive Thru" will be held April 13 noon–1 p.m. at Frederick Myers Veterans Memorial Park (rain or shine), the Maybrook United Methodist Church will hold an egg hunt April 12 at noon, and the Village participated in the Montgomery St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The board congratulated Trustee Bill Giannico and another trustee on re-election following the March 18 village elections; the transcript did not specify the second trustee’s name.
Trustee William Giannico thanked residents for their support: "Thanks to everyone for their support for his re-election," he said during trustees' reports, and Deputy Mayor Charles Woznick noted ongoing PBA negotiations and a resident concern about a speed hump.
