The Village of Maybrook on March 24 awarded a sewer-lining contract to Arold Construction Company, accepting the low bid submitted February 27 for $146,200. Engineer S. Hoffman told trustees that conversations among the County, HUD and the village indicate federal funds are expected to remain available; added bid alternatives are below the grant amount and the village could request more lining work later to draw the grant fully.
Also during the meeting Engineer Hoffman reported that contractor Gallo requested a partial payment of $21,187.61; the board approved that payment on a separate motion. Both the contract award and the payment motion passed unanimously, 4–0. The board recorded that Arold’s base bid plus selected alternatives fit under the available grant funding.
"Gallo is requesting partial payment in the amount of $21,187.61," Engineer S. Hoffman stated when presenting the payment request. The board approved the Arold award on motion by Trustee Capozzoli and second by Deputy Mayor Woznick.
