Rowan County approves 'Narnia Lane' as road name for Potnik Road property

The Rowan County Board of Commissioners voted on Aug. 3 to name a portion of the 900 block of Potnik Road "Narnia Lane" to create an address for a planned hangar on the property.
Pam, a county staff member who presented the request, said the property owner proposed the name, emergency services approved it and neighbors were notified. "They came up with Narnia Lane, and that was approved by EMS emergency services," Pam said. The property owner was identified in discussion as Osman Hussein.
The board opened the brief public hearing, heard no objections and approved the road name by voice vote. The chair closed the hearing after asking whether anyone had a "monumental objection" and directed staff to record the new address information with county records.
