The City Council unanimously approved Resolution #2026-28 to award the City's fire hydrant replacement project to the lowest responsible bidder, M&J Underground, for $278,844.62. Public Utilities Superintendent Craig Blanchette said the work would install nine new hydrants and seven main valves in the Industrial TIF area on the city's east side; Alderman Renee Smith moved the resolution and Alderman Kelli Merrick seconded.
Council recorded a unanimous vote in favor of the award. Blanchette presented the quantities and the project location during the briefing; staff will proceed with contracting and scheduling with the awarded contractor.
