District Engineer Charlie Krebs told the board the MRI project to replace Pinehurst valley gutter inlet grates is approximately 80% complete and he will follow up on the schedule for asphalt patching. Krebs reviewed stormwater performance following Tropical Storm Debbie: parts of the community received almost 8 inches of rain in two to three days, exceeding design for roads at about 5½ inches in 24 hours. While the system flowed unobstructed, Krebs said it reached capacity in places.
A resident reported standing water coming through a slab and mold in a unit; Krebs said he did not believe the stormwater was the cause because other nearby units did not report similar problems, and he suggested Mr. Long be asked to comment at the next meeting. Krebs also advised the board that The Club could add a drainage connection to E1-A to allow bypass of pipes and inlets directly into the lake as a mitigation option.
Krebs will confirm whether recent MRI work on the Glen Eagles water line caused roadway or curb damage and will provide follow-up information after the meeting; no timeline or cost estimates for additional drainage work were recorded in the transcript.
