River Ridge board accepts resignation of Supervisor James Gilman; solicits applicants for Seat 1

Mrs. Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter and the board voted to accept it (motion by Mr. Blumenthal; second by Mr. Twombly). Because the vacancy is an appointment rather than an election, the board agreed to have Mr. Long and The Meadows’ POA manager e-blast residents about the vacancy, candidate qualifications, and request resumes or letters of interest be submitted before the next meeting so the board can consider appointment to Seat 1.
The district will provide candidates with materials required for appointed officers, including ethics training, Form 1 disclosure instructions, Form 8B (memorandum of voting conflict) and a guide to the Sunshine Amendment and code of ethics for public officers and employees. The transcript records the acceptance of the resignation and the planned recruitment steps; the appointment itself was deferred to a future meeting.
