Florence board renews employee health insurance, updates sick-leave policy and directs water/wastewater policy review

The board approved renewal of employee health insurance with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mississippi effective December 2025. The motion to renew the policy was made by Alderman Mason Herrin, seconded by Alderman Kyle Martin, and carried unanimously.
In related personnel matters, the board directed City Attorney Bobby Lingold to update the city sick-leave policy to mirror the state sick-leave policy. The board also authorized the city attorney to work with Mayor Trey Gunn on updating water and wastewater policies and fees. These policy updates were directed by unanimous vote; no implementation dates or cost estimates were provided at the Nov. 4 meeting.
