The Whitehall School District board approved advertising an annual resolution of intent that preserves the district's ability to adjust permissive levies in August when final state funding figures are set.
Superintendent Hannah Nuskin said the advertisement is procedural: it allows the district to adjust levies later but does not by itself increase spending or guarantee a levy hike. "At this point, we don't anticipate any increases because we don't know what our final funding numbers would be," Nuskin said. She reiterated the district does not plan to hire additional staff beyond current positions and stressed the notice is precautionary in light of pending state and federal funding decisions.
The board moved, seconded and approved the action to advertise the resolution of intent. Administration said the resolution allows the district to adjust permissive levies in August if necessary once state apportionment and other funding details are finalized.
