Council hears beach maintenance updates and resident concerns about Stop 40 and garden seeds

Brian Cassidy, who reported on beach matters, said Beach Stops 37 and 41.5 will remain open and that stairs at Stop 38 remain buried in about 4 feet of sand and are not removable at present. Cassidy said several village toters have disappeared from beach stops and the village will work with Republic to find a solution. He also noted that lake levels are seven inches lower this year than the same time last year.
During public comment, resident Kathleen Hogan Morrison asked the council to re-check Stop 40 in spring regarding items protruding from the sand. Resident Pam Schutt reported animals eating seeds that had been planted in the garden area; the council acknowledged both concerns.
