Council approves treasurer's report, check register and House Walk; amends HR manual and grants staff Dec. 22 day off

Treasurer Tracey McCay presented the treasurer's report and reported the Pokagon Fund balance at $45,536. She said two CDs maturing soon would be rolled over (Huntington at 3.5% and Everwise at 4.9%); councilor Mike Mumper suggested Tracey also check rates at Honor Credit Union.
Clerk Anne Heywood requested approval of the check register totaling $112,935.49; Tim McCarthy moved to approve the register and the council passed the motion. The council amended the HR manual to add the words "employee and spouse" to the Medicare section. The council approved a Michiana House Walk for July 25, 2025, with proceeds to go toward hall renovation; Karen Shoshana will lead efforts to recruit homes. Separately, the council approved giving employees Monday, Dec. 22 off (motion by Mike Botelho, seconded by Mike Mumper). Anne also thanked Jan Mathes for donating four game tables to the hall and announced holiday hall hours.
