County Attorney Nick Anderson told the board that a public hearing is required before the county can adopt such a policy or proceed with related abatements.
Commissioner Tom Appel had earlier said the Mountain Lake tax abatement public hearing would not be held at the July 1 session because the county needs a Business Subsidy Policy in place. The board tabled that abatement matter and set the special meeting so the public hearing can be scheduled and other miscellaneous items addressed on July 22. The action was taken by motion and carried unanimously.
