Nicole Nelson, with experience in fire rehabilitation, cautioned against immediate heavy‑handed rehabilitation: "I would caution against getting in there too quickly to do any rehab because it will take a few years for it to stabilize," she said, recommending timing and planning be sensitive to ecological recovery. Staff said they will consider holding some funds back until the year after to better understand trail impacts and needs.
