During the discussion the presiding official addressed what she called "misinformation" from public remarks about the project scale, stating, "This young man came and said it was high rise; it's not a high rise." The council chose to defer further developer engagement to a town-hall format in prior discussions but, because the applicant failed to appear, members moved to a final vote to decline rezoning at this meeting.
The denial is recorded in the meeting minutes; councilmembers indicated they remain open to future, properly noticed hearings or a developer presentation but concluded the application before them would not proceed.
