Board approves surplus of library materials, Chromebooks and iPads for family distribution

The board voted Dec. 15 to approve Surplus Resolution FY26-06 allowing the district to surplus selected library materials and devices identified as out of warranty so staff can reassign them to families in need over the holiday break.
Dr. Becky Schuchman and staff described a CMS library weeding list and noted Chromebooks and iPads that are out of warranty; Miss Sanson and principals will coordinate distribution to families. "We also have Chromebooks and Ipad's out of warranty," the meeting record notes. Brandon Little moved approval; Kyle Bradley seconded. Roll call votes were all yea (6-0), with Sam Harding absent.
The board said devices will be screened for functionality and distributed by principals and counselors; the motion was presented as a one-time surplus action to support families during the break.
