Council clarifies new paid parking and resident tag rules

McCarthy said golf carts should place the sticker on the back fender, and that visitors would be charged a $10 hourly fee to park directly in front of Village Hall; visitors may use free parking along Michiana Drive and Cherokee Drive. The council said it created additional parking and more golf‑cart spaces, and that no parking fees will be charged during village events such as Music in the Park.
At the meeting a resident (Dr. Lome) had earlier asked why the paid parking was created; council members said the policy aims to reserve convenient spaces for taxpayers and to reduce all‑day nonresident use.
