Village officials told trustees that the Troutman and Doms development (including an Albertsons site) is advancing and that staff and developers expect permits from the Illinois Department of Transportation soon. The meeting moderator said, "I did talk with Troutman and Doms ... they have come to an agreement with Albertsons, and all points are agreed upon," and that a development agreement is expected to come before planning and zoning in mid-August.
Staff member Andy also said the village is negotiating easements with CPKC Railroad for a planned pathway across the railroad and that federal funding rules and Illinois Commerce Commission oversight add complexity. He told trustees that public notices for the Planning & Zoning Commission hearing have been issued for Aug. 17. Other developers (Route 72/Reinking Road) have submitted applications and engineering submittals and will proceed through phased reviews.
