Board tours ag building, hears maintenance and levy project updates

On May 1 the board conducted a tour of the new ag building at Minico led by Ag Advisor Rick Stimpson; the board then inspected the old ag facility to evaluate conversion potential for a wood shop. Teacher Brent Van Every provided a preliminary electrical cost estimate of approximately $50,000–$80,000 to make the old space viable as a classroom.
Maintenance and facility reports in the May 15 packet show ongoing hail-damage inspections, HVAC work status by campus (several units in final inspection stages), painting progress at the ag building (about 86% complete) and a list of levy projects in progress. The board received the reports and staff said they are pursuing quotes for outstanding HVAC and step repairs.
