The Pingree Grove Village Board voted to accept a special warranty deed conveying Fire Station Park and an East Park parcel from D.R. Horton as part of an amended annexation agreement.
Staff explained the first amendment to the CLN 2 annexation agreement requires D.R. Horton to convey the Fire Station Park — including a pavilion, band shell, landscaping, parking and restroom facilities — and an approximately 27-acre East Park parcel for future planning. "It's about 27 acres, for our future, planning purposes and future use," Andy told trustees during the presentation. Trustees asked whether the washrooms and other improvements were complete; staff confirmed the facilities are finished from D.R. Horton's perspective and noted the village will maintain fencing improvements financed by the developer.
Staff also noted the Farmers & Makers Market will use the Fire Station Park this Saturday, and administrators said a press release about a Business View magazine feature will be distributed. The resolution to accept the deed was moved, seconded and approved by roll call.
