The Southwest ISD Board of Trustees approved a consent agenda at its Sept. 17 regular meeting that included approval of prior meeting minutes, an overnight trip for Southwest High School boys basketball to compete in the 2024 Wings and Rings Battle in the Border tournament, and multiple purchases and contracts.
Items listed on the consent agenda included approval for purchase of the GoGuardian Software Suite, purchase from the Center for Model Schools (formerly ICLE), approval of district second appraisers for T-TESS and additional T-TESS appraisers for 2024–2025, approval of College Board purchases for 2024–2025, award of Bid 2324-035 for spring sports athletic equipment and supplies, and a one-year grant with PreK4SA for the 2024–2025 academic year. "Mr. Sullivan moved to approve the consent agenda as presented. Mrs. Bernal seconded the motion. All members voted in favor; the motion carried," the minutes state.
Why it matters: Consent items bundle routine approvals that enable activities such as student travel, classroom software deployment, performance assessments, and athletic procurement to proceed without separate discussion.
The minutes record unanimous approval; no dollar amounts or contract specifics are provided in the text of the minutes.
