The Southwest ISD Board of Trustees on Sept. 17 approved schematic design drawings for the Southwest Legacy High School Additions Project and selected Joeris General Contractors as the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR).
According to the minutes, Mrs. Sudolcan moved to approve the schematic design drawings as presented by Pfluger Architects; Mrs. Bernal seconded and all members voted in favor. The board then approved Joeris General Contractors as the CMAR after an amended handout was presented at the meeting. "Mrs. Sudolcan moved to approve Joeris General Contractors as the Construction Manager at Risk on the Southwest Legacy High School additions project as presented at Tuesday evening's meeting in an amended handout," the record states.
Why it matters: Approval of schematic designs and selection of a CMAR are major procedural steps in school facility projects and move the additions project toward construction procurement and scheduling.
The board recorded unanimous approval for both motions.
