The Utah WHP advisory council began its scoring meeting with a resource update: Evan Bich, Recreational Trails program administrator, said rollover funds and current apportionments bring roughly $1,887,000 into the RTP pool for this cycle.
"Since our last meeting, we were actually able to identify an additional $325,000 in additional funding through rollover," Evan said, explaining that projects that came in under budget contributed the amount. He noted that if the fund is split evenly between motorized and nonmotorized categories the motorized share would be about $943,000, and that a 5% education set-aside equates to about $94,000.
Bich walked members through the ranking spreadsheet, links to project folders, and how staff will submit ranked projects to the Utah Transportation Commission for approval on May 14 with awards issued June 25. He also invited members to request budget line-item views during the scoring process if they want to fund elements or add contract caveats.
