The Village of Michiana Planning Commission reported progress on updating the Village Master Plan and the council approved pausing Sport Courts construction until the plan framework is complete.
Planning Commission Chair Julie Bonello said the commission will follow the 2005 Master Plan format, meet with consultants, prepare a letter of intent and draft an RFP to solicit consultants. Mike Botelho announced a workshop on Sept. 13 and moved to pause Sport Courts construction until the Master Plan framework is completed; Tim McCarthy seconded. The motion passed on a roll-call vote of 5 ayes, 0 nays.
Bonello will serve as the commission’s point person for future updates and will report progress to the council. The pause aims to ensure larger projects are phased in with one- and five-year plans once the Master Plan update is complete.
