After signing off on zero tapes, the canvassing board conducted a live signature-verification audit of vote-by-mail envelopes. Assistant Supervisor Jason Kimon walked members through randomly selected batches and displayed envelopes and registration records on-screen for comparison; board members took turns selecting random ballots and making determinations on whether the envelope signature matched signatures on file.
Jason Kimon summarized the audit phase: "So that is our signature verification audit. We pulled the ones that need a cure. These are all good, have been, checked, verified. We're gonna roll them into our tabulation room and begin the opening and tabulating of votes." During the process the board pulled a small number of ballots for further review and agreed to bring two items back to the next canvassing meeting if cures were unresolved. At a later point the board accepted one tier-2 cure packet (dated 07/15/2026) and instructed staff to continue processing other cure items through the statutory cure window.
