NTDSE report: enrollment up, district to add classrooms and staff

Secretary John P. Vranas reported on the April 24 NTDSE Governing Board meeting: enrollment at Molloy rose 11% year over year and satellite locations rose 10%, creating a projected need to add four classrooms at Molloy and hire approximately 28 additional staff (seven teachers, 12 paraprofessionals and eight related services staff) for 2025–26.
Vranas also read recognitions for ten SD74 staff members named "Friend of NTDSE" and noted that renovation of Pod 5 will begin after the Extended School Year at Molloy. The next NTDSE Governing Board meeting was scheduled for May 22, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.
