Member Dean Barnett moved and Member Ivory Myles seconded a motion to enter closed session to consider the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees and related complaints under the cited state statute (5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1)). On roll call the board voted AYE: Barnett, Myles, Chalmers, Richardson; NAY: None; Absent: Taneshia Armstrong, Frances Pollard, LaKeya Webb. The motion carried and the board entered closed session at 5:25 p.m.
The minutes record that the board returned to open session at 6:00 p.m. (a motion to return was made by Member Chalmers and recorded as AYE: All, NAY: None). The meeting then adjourned at 6:03 p.m. on a motion moved by Member Chalmers and seconded by all members. The minutes do not record the substance of the closed-session discussion, consistent with the statutory exception for personnel deliberations.
