Board keeps closed-session minutes sealed, approves destruction of older audio recordings

The Hazel Crest board voted to keep recent closed-session minutes confidential and to authorize destruction of audio recordings from Dec. 2024–May 2025 under Action Item 25-62.
At the July 21 meeting the board approved Action Item 25-62 to retain closed-session minutes as closed records and to destroy audio recordings from December 2024 through May 2025. Member LaKeya Webb moved the action and Member Ivory Myles seconded; the motion passed on roll call.
The minutes state the action was taken because "the need for confidentiality still exists as to all or part of the minutes." The board recorded the vote as AYE: Webb, Myles, Armstrong, Richardson, Barnett; Absent: Chalmers, Pollard. The motion carried.
