City Clerk Andrea Grupido told the council on Feb. 2 that a neighboring municipality has expressed interest in joining a joint early-voting agreement and already owns the necessary voting equipment, which would reduce Evart's equipment costs. Grupido asked council for authority to work with the city attorney and approve the agreement consistent with county deadlines.
Councilmember Mike Fulton moved to approve the early-voting agreement and give the city clerk permission to make any necessary changes; Ralph Carlson seconded and the motion passed with all in favor. The authorization allows the clerk to complete the agreement in time to meet county filing deadlines.
