On Feb. 17 the Evart City Council approved adding Hersey Township to the city's early-voting joint municipal agreement. Councilor Mike Fulton moved for approval; Ralph Carlson seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Later in the meeting Mark Sochocki of the Evart Housing Commission distributed invitations to a Feb. 25 business and community luncheon and during citizen comment thanked the city for being willing to host an early-voting site that will be closer for Orient Township residents. The minutes do not record any objections or discussion of staffing or costs associated with hosting early voting.
