Three spring Open Space Fund applications seek nearly $307,500; fund balance $7.5M

At the May 5 meeting A. Sorensen told the Board the Planning Department received three spring round applications for the Orange County Open Space Fund. The requests include a $119,000 PDR for Blackstone Farm in the Town of Montgomery, a $50,000 request for the Wood Family Trust site in the Town of Warwick (24.3 acres), and a $137,500 PDR application for a Sleepy Valley Road parcel in Warwick. Sorensen said the Planning Department will check eligibility and send the applications to Board members digitally for review prior to the June meeting.
Sorensen added that he expects at least one additional application in the fall, likely for approximately $1 million, and that the County is seeking an additional $1 million to replenish the Open Space Fund, which currently has $7.5 million available.
