At the June 24 special meeting the board approved by voice vote several personnel items on the consent agenda: the resignations of paraprofessional Yessica Mascorro (effective May 29, 2025) and Director of Buildings and Grounds Dajuan Ballentine (effective June 30, 2025); the termination of Jordan Sewell; a resolution approving employment of individuals for Summer School (June 2–30, 2025) and Freedom School (June 9–July 25, 2025); employment of Addison Anderson as a 5th-grade teacher at $53,390; employment of Edward Pope as a lunchroom assistant at $22.00 per hour for summer programs; and employment of Roshune Pechacek as Special Education Coordinator at a salary of $121,540 for 2025–2026.
During the same motion the board removed or tabled specific items from the consent agenda: the proposed hire of Judy Brown as board secretary was tabled to July 22, 2025; Jennifer Holic's special-education teacher employment and Priti Mathur's extra-duty after-school assignment were tabled indefinitely. The minutes record the motion carried on a voice vote with Trustees Hannah, Myrick, Dawson, Johnson and Patterson voting aye; Trustees Buchanan and Griffin were absent for those votes.
