The airport committee told the board it had not raised hangar rents in several years and recommended increasing the monthly rate from $135 to $150. The committee also recommended a $30-per-month tie-down fee to encourage turnover of long-vacant aircraft spaces and to help fund airport maintenance.
Committee members said the adjustment is necessary to cover maintenance and operations that county maintenance crews already provide. "We haven't raised rates since they were first set," the committee spokesperson said; the board motion to raise hangar rent and to approve the tie-down fee passed on voice vote.
The tie-down fee is scheduled to take effect Jan. 1, 2027, allowing aircraft owners several months to adjust.
