New marina manager reports slip decline, more transients and operational fixes

Chair introduced JJ Montgomery, who identified himself as "JJ Montgomery" and said he has been with DPW for nearly five years and recently moved into the marina manager/harbormaster role. JJ provided operational metrics and near-term changes: seasonal slip enrollments were down by 21 compared with last year, transients were up by 17, fuel-dock hours will be extended Monday–Thursday to 4 p.m., and staff are pursuing a kiosk to capture launch fees currently lost to unmonitored usage.
JJ said customer service measures (caller-ID and phone improvements) have been implemented and the marina plans to hire additional dockhands for the fall season. "We are down in numbers for seasonal dock holders, currently at 21 below the way we were last year," JJ said. He also said the American Cruise Lines visits have been financially beneficial and that staff are coordinating with Sheboygan Water Utility on ship re-watering service contracts.
