Council approves multiple small appropriations including purchase of Holland Dumpster site
Summary
At its June 22 meeting the council approved a package of additional appropriations totaling $66,563 across funds, including $25,000 from LIT‑ED to buy the Holland Dumpster site and smaller appropriations for parks, emergency management, recorder maintenance, and solid‑waste dumpsters.
Auditor Sandra L. Morton presented several additional appropriation requests and the council approved each by motion and unanimous vote. Approved appropriations included $350 from the Park Restricted Donation Fund for an Eagle Scout project; $4,112 from the Emergency Management Donation Fund for equipment; $4,000 from the Federal Equitable Sharing Fund for equipment; $29,500 from LIT‑ED (of which $25,000 was to purchase the Holland Dumpster site, $1,000 for title and closing costs, and $3,500 for Weights & Measures equipment); $12,600 from the Recorder Enhanced Access Fund for maintenance fees; and $15,000 from the Solid Waste (Sticker) Fund for dumpsters.
Meredith Voegerl, Sonya Haas, Doug Uebelhor, Michael Stallman, Deena Lewis and others moved and seconded the requests as noted in the minutes; all motions carried unanimously. The council recorded the approvals to support park maintenance, emergency equipment, property purchase, record system maintenance, and solid‑waste services.
