Council reviews 2027 wage study; schedules executive session on personnel matters

Meredith Voegerl provided the council an update on the 2027 wage study conducted by Waggoner, Irwin, Scheele & Associates. She said a subgroup of council members, the auditor, deputy auditor, Human Resources staff, and commissioners reviewed the consultant's findings and identified positions that may be below current market benchmarks and warrant adjustment. The study also evaluated federal wage‑and‑hour classifications and recommended using an evaluation system based on duties and responsibilities.
President Michael W. Kluesner announced an executive session for June 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. under IC 5‑14‑1.5‑6.1(b)(9) to discuss job performance evaluations, employee‑specific compensation, or employment matters of individual employees. The wage study will serve as one input among several in future compensation decisions.
