CSBO reports $600,000 fund-transfer proposal and $22,374 contract savings

Jason Udstuen, the district's Chief School Business Official, gave the Committee of the Whole a finance update on June 17, saying "The District ended January with Cash reserves of just over $6M." He reported monthly revenues of $1,841,743 after the May tax distribution and total expenditures of $1,770,964 for the month, down $32,550 from the prior year.
Udstuen reviewed routine charge categories (American Express charges of $45,672.16 and Costco charges of $2,444.82), the accounts-payable run, and proposed transferring $600,000 from the Operations and Maintenance Fund to the Education Fund "to improve our net position." He also previewed the 2025'2026 budget and reminded trustees that the budget hearing is scheduled for July 22, 2025. Udstuen reported that the ECRA contract renewal dropped from a $40,000 renewal to $22,500, a negotiation he said "saved the district $22,374."
