The City Council of Black Jack held a public hearing on the proposed 2027 Annual Fiscal Year Budget on July 7, 2026. Felicia Bishop, Finance and Benefits Manager, "gave a PowerPoint presentation and provided an overview of the City’s proposed budget," and copies of the budget documents were provided as handouts for public review. After no members of the public offered comments, Councilman Grady moved to close the public hearing and the motion passed by roll call.
After the public hearing, Councilman Grady moved "to approve the 2027 City of Black Jack Budget as distributed." The motion was seconded and passed by a unanimous roll call vote with Councilwoman Gray, Councilwoman Thames, Councilwoman Johnson, Councilwoman Lawson, Councilman Grady and Councilwoman James all recorded as voting yes. The formal adoption completes the council's budget process for 2027 as recorded in the July 7 meeting minutes.
