DOT to post 60 mph signs on several Carroll County highways, roads director says

Roads Director (Speaker 3) told the board he received DOT notice that several road segments in Carroll County — including Highway 141, Highway 71 and Highway 30 — will be posted at 60 miles per hour. "DOT sent me an email that ... road segments in Carroll County will have to hit into the 60 mile an hour signs," he said.
Directors and commissioners discussed sign delivery timing; the director said the county’s signs should be delivered this week. Chair (Speaker 1) and the director noted that the county should consult the attorney general’s office about when changed postings take legal effect and how the county’s speed-display systems and mapping (vehicle head-up displays) will reflect the new limits. No vote was required; the item was informational and staff will follow up on installation and legal timing.
The board did not take formal action beyond requesting staff check with legal counsel about enforcement timing and confirm sign installation schedules.
