The Jacksonville School District 117 Board of Education met Feb. 19, 2025, and unanimously approved the meeting agenda after a motion by Mr. Lonergan and a second from Mrs. Wilson.
Later in the meeting Mr. Lonergan moved and Mrs. Wilson seconded that the board adjourn to closed session at 6:31 PM “for the purposes of: The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees… (5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1)); collective negotiating matters… (5 ILCS 120/2(c)(2)); student disciplinary cases (5 ILCS 120/2(c)(9)); litigation… (5 ILCS 120/2(c)(11)); and the purchase or lease of real property… (5 ILCS 120/2(c)(5)).” The motion passed with all members recorded as voting yea.
The board returned to open session at 7:00 PM on a motion by Mr. Lonergan, seconded by Mrs. Wilson, with the same seven members — Beard, Leonard, Lonergan, Pool, Stewart, Trace and Wilson — recorded as voting in favor. District leaders present during the meeting included Superintendent Steve Ptacek, Director of Curriculum and Instruction Kelly Zoellner, Director of Human Resources Tami Stice, Special Services Director Barbie Davidsmeyer, Chief Financial Officer Rick Cunningham and Recording Secretary Jenn Lacey.
No substantive reports were discussed in open session before the meeting concluded.
