The Parent-Teacher Advisory Committee of Rankin CSD 98 met April 30, 2025, and reviewed proposed edits to the 2024–2025 student handbook. Committee members reached consensus on a number of wording and operational changes, notably revising National Junior Honor Society eligibility on Page 9 from a review of '6 previous grading periods' to '5 previous grading periods' for GPA checks, and approving updates to cafeteria pricing and lost-and-found location.
Committee members also recorded several procedural edits and assignments for staff to implement. Dr. Matt Gordon was asked to revise the morning drop-off paragraph for next year, Page 56 was updated to add required notice about emergency medications carried by the school per state requirements, and Page 70 flagged the need to appoint a female complaint manager. The committee reviewed behavior intervention guidelines and recommended no changes.
