Board approves Consolidated Grant Application and district plan alignment for FY26

Prospect Heights School District 23’s Board approved the administration’s Consolidated Grant Application and the Consolidated District Plan on April 10. The plan documents anticipated federal program participation for FY26 (Title I, II, III, IV, IDEA and other programs), stakeholder consultation, needs‑assessment findings and planned uses of funds.
Assistant Superintendent Dr. Craig Curtis explained the district’s needs‑assessment process, which uses report‑card data, the Five Essentials Survey, NSSEO surveys, student achievement and subgroup analyses to identify gaps — for example, performance differences affecting multilingual learners and students with disabilities. The Board motion to approve the Consolidated Grant Application was made by Kevin Novak and seconded by Brian Greidanus and passed unanimously. Administration will file the packet with ISBE and proceed with program‑level planning and any required updates after award notifications.
The Consolidated District Plan narrative notes coordination across departments, aligns district goals with ISBE priorities, and documents stakeholder involvement including parents, teachers, NSSEO and community members.
