At 8:07 p.m. on Oct. 28, the board voted unanimously to enter executive session under 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1), (2) and (21) to discuss student matters, employment and personnel matters, collective bargaining and review of executive session minutes. The board remained in executive session and resumed regular session at 9:40 p.m.
Upon resuming open session, the board moved to employ Daniel Berkel as a substitute teacher for the 2025–2026 school year; the motion carried by unanimous roll call. The meeting was adjourned at 9:41 p.m.
Why it matters: Executive sessions are used for confidential personnel and student matters; the public minutes record the procedural basis for the closed session and the subsequent personnel hire that was recorded in open session.
