Salt Creek School District 48's board voted June 18 to give the Superintendent authority to make necessary hiring commitments during July and early August when the board will not meet. The action allows administration to continue interviews and issue 'intent to hire' letters so positions can be filled before the new school year; the board will receive a final report and formal approval requests at the August 14, 2025 Regular Board meeting. The motion was moved by Mr. Downer and seconded by Mr. Kielminski and passed with all present voting yea.
Board members emphasized that any candidates appointed under the delegated authority will receive formal ratification by the board in August. The motion text directs the Superintendent to provide a final report to the board detailing hires made under the delegated authority and any outstanding vacancies.
