Superintendent outlines SB637 project work, explores tax-exempt bonds and communications changes

Dr. Kevin Skinkis, the district superintendent, briefed the board on the SB637 project and related site-improvement planning, saying he is "exploring the use of tax-exempt capital improvement bonds to fund some site improvements." He described ongoing coordination among the district, the zoo and district consultants.
Skinkis said the July financial report will be presented at the August meeting because of the July 4 holiday, and announced the district’s student/parent communications will transition from the Remind app to ParentSquare with more information to be sent to stakeholders before the school year. He also reported the HVAC unit in the Little Theater is scheduled for repair by October and noted the Policy Advisory Council met June 17 to review IASB Press Packet 118.
