Resident tells commissioners 24/7 pallet-mill noise persists; county code lacks decibel limits

"It is 24 hours per day, seven days per week," she said, and described efforts to work with the non-emergency sheriff's line, village officials, and zoning authorities that produced no remedy.
Commissioner Charles A. Patterson and staff described the options available under Ohio law: township trustees and the health department both have nuisance authority in many cases, but county zoning does not currently include enforceable decibel limits. Stephanie Dunlap, who spoke during public comment, confirmed county code lacks numerical decibel standards, making enforcement difficult from the zoning department's standpoint.
Commissioners asked Jarrell to remain in contact and said they would help coordinate next steps with township and health-department authorities, while noting the limits of county zoning in setting and enforcing specific noise thresholds.
