Dirk Lackovich Van Gorp, Clark County grants manager, briefed the Board of Commissioners on April 29 about six years of grant activity and said most awards came through the Ohio Department of Development. "Clark County has secured approximately $5.6 million in grant funding," he said, listing CDBG allocation dollars, critical infrastructure, Target of Opportunity, and Lead Safe Ohio among sources.
Lackovich Van Gorp cited projects supported by those funds, including street and drainage improvements across townships and the demolition of the former New Carlisle school to free a site for Habitat for Humanity homes. He said the county secured more than $1.4 million to remediate lead hazards in homes countywide and that COVID-era grants supported HVAC and public-safety upgrades for local nonprofits.
Commissioners read a proclamation recognizing his service and Ethan Harris and others thanked him for advancing projects in collaboration with county staff and community partners. Mr. Lackovich Van Gorp said he is leaving the county to return to the private sector.
