The proclamation records that Lawrence was born Dec. 28, 1944, served as an assessor from March 2006 to December 2008, and served two terms as county commissioner (Jan. 1, 2009–Dec. 31, 2012; Jan. 1, 2013–Dec. 31, 2019). The motion to approve the proclamation was made by Commissioner Damon Hoyte and seconded by Commissioner Gerald Douglas; the vote was unanimous.
