Neighbors press Waverly on stormwater, tree planting and impervious surface concerns

Several residents raised environmental concerns tied to stormwater runoff, sewer capacity and loss of mature trees. Marissa Berlin said she has lived near the property for 40 years and asked the applicant to reconsider waivers for tree planting and to propose off‑parking tree plantings to help reduce runoff; she suggested an EPA study because the site hosts wildlife and large continuous pervious areas.

Others asked about impervious surface percentages, location of backup generators and diesel storage, and the ability of township sewer infrastructure to handle new flows. The applicant acknowledged the need to respond to township engineer comments and said those technical items will be addressed at the preliminary plan stage; engineers provided a review letter that the applicant said they would incorporate into future submissions.
